Study of Touch Gestures Performance in Touch Devices by Young Children
نویسندگان
چکیده
This research tests the performance of 16 four and five-year-old children with an iPad application with four experiments corresponding to four different gestures: Point-and-Touch, Drag-and-Drop, Zoom-in and Zoom-out, and Rotation. The results show that 5-yearold children perform better than 4-year-old children in the four experiments. The results indicate that interaction design for young children that uses point-and-touch gestures should consider smaller distance between targets, and design using drag-and-drop gestures should consider larger size of targets, as these have significant effects in the way children perform these gestures. Effect of Touch on the Intensity and Duration of Venipuncture Pain in the School-age Children
Background: Pain has physiological and psychological effects on a child's life and various body systems. Tactile stimulation affects the central nervous system and releases analgesic drugs resulting in the inhibition of pain. Aim: The main purpose of this study was effect of touch on the intensity and duration of pain during venipuncture in school-age children. Methods: This clinical trial was ...

متن کاملA Model of Multi-touch Manipulation
As touch-sensitive devices become increasingly popular, fundamentally understanding the human performances of multitouch gestures is critical. However, there is currently no mathematical model for interpreting such gestures. In this paper, a novel model of multi-touch interaction is derived by combining the Mahalanobis distance metric and Fitts’ law. The model describes the time required to com...
متن کاملTouch-panel Usability for Children
In the past few years, touch panels have increasingly been used in children’s education, and more research has been devoted to the development of electronic schoolbag. However, children often encounter difficulties operating touch screens, possibly due to their relative lack of experience using computers or touch panels, or because of the small size of their hands. This study investigates the d...
متن کاملHeuristic-based Approach to detect Global Touch Gestures performed on Touch Devices
Global gestures on touch devices need to be detected so that this information can later be used to create checkpoints in a screen recording of the touch device. Currently, there is no uniform and legal solution to do so on devices like the iPad. We propose a system with two cameras (RGB cameras) which will be able to detect global gestures performed on any touch device (or in fact, any surface ...
